Young Carers
We have achieved the Young Carers in School Award.
Young Carers Champions/Leads at OLCA
Mrs Brotherhood and Mrs Buttery
At Our Lady's we have several young carers.
A young carer is someone under the age of 18 who helps to care for a family member, relative or friend.
The award is run jointly by The Children’s Society and Carers Trust.
The programme works with schools across England to share good practice, provide relevant tools and training, and celebrate the great outcomes many schools achieve for young carers.
Through the programme we will :
- Gain national recognition for raising outcomes for young carers through the Young Carers in Schools Award.
- Identify manageable steps to improve educational outcomes for this pupil group.
- Access additional support including tools, templates and good practice examples, webinars and professional development events.
