Music
The Music curriculum at Our Lady's follows the Charanga programme. From September 2024, Our Lady's have joined the In Harmony Project. Alongside the Charanga programme, specialist music teachers will now support the teaching of the Music curriculum which will allow pupils increased opportunities to learn to play instruments.
Development Plan
Our Music development plan focuses on the below strands:
- Curriculum Mapping - Align the Charanga Programme and In Harmony Project to form a bespoke Music Curriculum which covers all National Curriculum requirements.
- Access to instruments - Increase pupils' access to instruments so that children in Y1-6 have opportunities to learn to play an instrument.
- Enrichment - Provide additional opportunities for music enrichment through the In Harmony project.
- Pupil Leaders - Further develop Music Leaders to support the leadership of Music events e.g. Hymn Practice, Combined Schools' Mass
